Four Great Restaurants To Try In Albuquerque, New Mexico
We went to Albuquerque last month for the International Balloon Fiesta. It was incredible! But one of the main reasons I want to go back is for the food.
New Mexico has so many unique flavors! These are four great restaurants we tried on our trip!
LA PLACITA'S
Located in Old Town Albuquerque, this restaurant serves delicious New Mexican food including stuffed sopapillas (frybread filled with meat) and traditional New Mexican chili sauce. You can order your meal red or green sauce, or Christmas style.
BLAKE'S LOTABURGER
This fastfood joint makes burgers with chili sauce on them! My brother loved their dipping sauce made with green chilis. This is definitely a must try restaurant in New Mexico!
PUEBLO HARVEST
I was especially excited to visit this restaurant. They serve Native American fusion. We ordered the Pueblo Feast: posole, vegetarian posole, a blue corn muffin, frybread with honey, a huge cheese enchilada with red chili sauce, beans, and squash.
The meal included to pieces of pie! This pie was so different and so good! The filling was more like jelly than a typical whole fruit pie. The texture was amazing!
My brother was kind enough to let me taste his Pueblo Burger. This is one of the most unique burgers out there! It's served on a red chili bun and loaded with a juicy beef patty, melted cheddar cheese, bacon, a fried egg, green chilies, and kool-aid fried pickles. Yep. I mean, pickle chips marinaded in black cherry kool-aid and fried!
FRONTIER
Frontier is a huge diner that's famous for it's breakfast burritos and cinnamon rolls. Seriously, their cinnamon rolls are so fantastically buttery! This restaurant is a favorite among tourists and locals!
