30+ Ideas For Your Beauty Bucket List
A beauty bucket list is a great way to explore your interests and to discover what you like! This kind of list is not about achieving but highlighting self-worth. As a result, my life is effortlessly romanticized!
It's incredible how simply writing down the things I want to do and buy for myself has helped me love myself so much more. Love grows between those who serve and receive service from each other. It only makes sense to do that for ourselves!
I am a firm believer that a bucket list is unique to each person. It' doesn't have to be full of flashy ambitions or faraway travel destinations. It's about you, and what makes you feel alive. It's about creating lovely memories. And why can't finding your favorite lipstick be memorable?
Below is my beauty bucket list! It covers, skincare (my favorite), spa treatments, haircare, and cosmetics. Some are items I have already experienced while others are in the works.
I hope you find inspiration here, and I would love to know what's on your list!

SKINCARE
Oxygen facial
I have heard that the results are amazing, but short-lived. Tons of celebrities get an oxygen facial right before a red-carpet event. I would love to treat myself someday!
Microneedling
This helps to fade scars, smooth skin, and boost collagen production. I think it would be worthwhile to try it out three or four times to see how I like it, but if I do, it may be hard to stop. It's pricey which is why I haven't tried it yet. Plus, I don't need more appointments in my current season of life. When I do give it a try, I want to get it done at a reputable esthetician school for lower prices.
Chemical peel
My main reason for wanting to get a chemical peel (or several) is to clear up my hyperpigmentation. I have read that there is no recovery time, and although I don't like appointments, two or three peels a year sounds doable. I think I might try it sometime later this year.
I have tried these now and I love them! I have trouble wearing the mask for so long, but maybe I can train myself. They do wonders for my right before an event or vacation. My skin positively glowed after using Biodance for the first time!
Hydroquinone
Hydroquinone is a topical treatment that helps with hyperpigmentation. It's prescribed by a dermatologist making it more affordable. It makes skin more sensitive to sunlight, so I intend to try it this coming winter.
Brow Serum ✓
I naturally have super thin eyebrows, so I love a good brow serum that helps me feel more put together with minimal effort. I used Babe Original for a few years and then took break to try other products, but I want to come back to this one.
Lash Serum
I have yet to find a lash serum that doesn't make my eyes look red rimmed. Babe Original was too harsh and other products I have tried don't do anything. If you have a lash serum you love, please let me know in the comments!
Hyaluronic Acid & Vitamin C Serum ✓
This is the serum I have started using in the morning right after cleansing. It's affordable, has great reviews, and I like it so far. The combination of hyaluronic acid and vitamin c promotes collagen production, brightens dark spots, and reduces fine lines.
Glycolic Acid Toner ✓
I just started using Ordinary glycolic acid toner as an exfoliator. Since it's only 7% strength and I have oily skin, I apply it three nights a week after cleansing and before applying moisturizer. Hopefully, in time it will even my skin tone and improve texture.
Tinted Sunscreen
Once I have finished my foundation, I will switch to a tinted sunscreen. I want to protect and show off my skin rather than cover it up completely.
This is the tinted sunscreen I think I might get. Let me know if you have any recommendations!
SELFCARE/SPA
Massage ✓
If you haven't experienced a professional massage yet, I highly recommend it.
Float Spa
I want to do this soon! I've heard it's incredibly relaxing, but I wonder how it compares to contrast therapy which I love.
Contrast Therapy ✓
Contrast therapy is not for the faint of heart, but it feels AMAZING afterward! First, you relax in a 195 F sauna, then you take a plunge in 50° or even 40° water for a few minutes. Then you rest for as long as you were in the cold water and repeat twice. It's uncomfortable for sure, but afterward I feel absolutely wonderful! I have never felt more relaxed and energized in all my life!
Korean Bathhouse ✓
I haven't been to a bathhouse in so long! They are difficult to find in the US, but so fun. The idea is to alternate between baths of various temps for half an hour or so. Then, you scrub all the dead skin off your body with a special scrubber. Your skin will feel cleaner than ever and baby soft!
If you don't have access to Korean bathhouse, soak in your own bath for at least thirty minutes to soften your skin. Next, hop in the shower and scrub yourself down with one of these Korean exfoliating mitts. It works best if you start at one of your hips and work out from there. Be sure to moisturize like crazy afterwards!
HAIR
Balayage ✓
I have done balayage twice before and love it. It looks so natural and you really only need to get it done twice a year or so.
Fringe Bangs
I haven't had true bangs since junior high. I am so low maintenance it just hasn't felt worth it. But I am going to go for it and get them done the next time I go in for balayage!
Heatless Curls ✓
I have just started on a heatless curls journey and it's working well so far.
I wanted to test the waters before buying anything for it, so I use my bathrobe tie and velvet scrunchies.
This video explains the method I have been using.
Braids
I really am so bad with hair. It just takes so much time, and I usually prefer to throw my hair into a ponytail before hiking anyway
However, I would like to look more put together. I rarely use heat on my hair, so I thought learning different braid methods is a happy medium between elevated style and not doing my hair at all.
I should probably set a goal to practice some kind of braid at least once a week until I get the hang of it.
COSMETICS
UPDATE:
I went with MAC Russian Red! It's such a pretty color. I feel it's slightly more sophisticated than Ruby Woo and more affordable than the other brands I want to own. I even found it discounted on Amazon!
I can't say why I had no interest in most other make up. And I really don't know what has changed. Somehow, playing with bold lipstick and eyeshadow is fun now!
I have some eyeshadows and one blush that will last me forever long. But I still haven't gotten myself a lovely red lipstick. The problem is, there are so many I want to try! But I am pacing myself because I don't want to be wasteful.
My dilemma is choosing which one to buy first. I would like to own only one red lipstick at a time because I want to use it up before getting something new.
So, my cosmetics bucket list is mostly comprised of lipsticks, but there are other products I want to try when I have used up my current stash.
I didn't hold back on the dreams though. If I had the means I would treat myself to a beauty haul of every product I've listed in a heartbeat.
I would like to own the following lipsticks, but which to get first?
I love this color! It is so pretty, but I wish it came in a longer lasting formula like the Locked Kiss 24 Hour line. It would be nice if Russian Red came in a mini too. Then I might actually use the whole bullet.
MAC Ruby Woo
I like the look of Russian Red on me better, but this color is just so iconic.
NARS Powermatte Lipstick in Dragon Girl
So many people rave about this lipstick. Maybe it is just FOMO but I so want it! I bet I would like it because I love my NARS Morocco lipstick. The formula is so creamy and it lasts for hours. I suspect I would like the quality of Dragon Girl more then a MAC red.
These next red lipsticks are ones I want to try out but I am not yet convinced that I want to own them:
NARS Cruella Powermatte Lip Pencil
I wish this came in the lipstick formula! But I love a dramatic red and I want to try it out.
MAC Locked Kiss 24 Hour Lipstick in Ruby True
I am hesitant to buy because I wish MAC would make a Russian Red version of this formula. But I love the idea of a low maintenance, bright lipstick that is mostly transfer proof!
Chanel Allure in Pirate
I am highly unlikely to ever purchase this lipstick. It is so expensive and I am so low maintenance, so I won't be trying this any time soon. Still, a girl can dream.
Pat McGrath Labs Liquid Lipstick in Elson 4
I think this color is gorgeous BUT I really struggle with liquid lipsticks. I know, it takes practice and I could get used to it. I am just too lazy to take my time with a liquid lipstick. I 100% want to try it just once, but I am sure I would never actually wear it if I were to purchase it.
509 Gucci Rosso Ancora, Rouge à Lèvres Mat Lipstick
I would love to try this lipstick but it retails for $50!
The rest are products I haven't purchased yet because I am using up the items I already own first:
MAC Velvet Teddy
This is my next nude lipstick I want to own. I have tried it out and it suits me best of the three Teddy lipsticks AND it comes in mini!
Setting Spray
Maybe it will be Urban Decay All Nighter. The price is lower on Amazon than Ulta or Sephora!
Korean Lip Oil
I have my eye on this NOONI Korean Lip Oil in Appleberry!
Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation
It sounds so luxurious and comes in so many shades! I would love to get this but... $$$
I know this is really basic, but I have never even tried it! It's the most iconic blush out there! I also want this blush in Amour.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Volumizing Mascara
Become A Pro At Eyeliner
I am terrible at it! So, I think I will practice with a drugstore liner before buying a bougie brand. Maybe I'll get NYX Epic Ink Liner but I have read it is very thin and tricky to apply. Maybe I should go with Stila Stay All Day Eye Liner instead?
