We Tried Every Cheesecake At The Cheesecake Factory And Ranked Them Worst To Best

A couple years ago I stumbled upon the idea to try every kind of cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory, and I thought, "Challenge accepted!"

This was not a huge bucket list goal for me, but I like cheesecake and it sounded like fun. Fortunately, Josiah thought so too.

Besides, the Cheesecake Factory has some good quality cheesecake, despite my distaste for anything else on their menu that I have tried. So, we set out to try every kind they make.

It has taken us a while, but this is our complete list of the cheesecakes we tried, comprising 35 flavors in total.
The only flavors we didn't taste were Low Carb Original, and Low Carb Strawberry.

Let me know what you think of our ratings and reviews on each of these. And tell us which kind of cheesecake is your favorite!

I have listed each slice starting with the ones we liked the least, and finished with our favorites. We didn't agree on how to rate some of the different kinds, so I included both of our ratings on those.

 Check it out!

35.  PEPPERMINT BARK   Me ★1/2  Him: ★★

Maybe it's the white chocolate that I don't love. And I think we would like it better if the "minty-ness" was more like mint chocolate chip

34.  HERSHEY'S CHOCOLATE BAR  ★★

I just kept pining for the Godiva slice while eating this. It's a combination of  cheesecake and cake (Boo!). And it's chocolate which is better than no chocolate but it has the classic waxiness of a Hershey's chocolate bar. It was rich but not the satisfying kind. Of course, I shouldn't be surprised. I mean, which would you rather have, a Hershey's chocolate bar or Godiva chocolates? We only got this one because the goal was to try all of them.

33.  FRESH STRAWBERRY  ★★

The strawberries are not exactly fresh. And you might think we would like this better than the boring Original cheesecake, but the strawberries are coated in goo that tastes like preservatives. This is one of the worst slices on this list.

32.  CRAIG'S CRAZY CARROT  ★★

It was little better than actual carrot cake with more cream cheesiness.

31.  PUMPKIN  ★★

It was almost just like pumpkin pie. I guess if you love pumpkin pie enough, it might be worth it to buy this slice, but it's really nothing special as a piece of pie or cheesecake.

30.  30th ANNIVERSARY CHOCOLATE  ★★1/2

This also has layers of cake and cheesecake. For me, it's too much cake and not enough cheesecake. But it offers a good balance to those who like a texture mix. This seems to be a fairly ordinary choice for a 30th anniversary dessert.

29.  TUXEDO CHOCOLATE CREAM  ★★1/2

Boring for a chocolate one, plus, once again, the cake layers distracted from the "cheesecake-ness"

 28.  CINNABON  ★★1/2

I would prefer to just eat an actual Cinnabon. There was simply not enough actual cheesecake in ratio to the Cinnabon. Plus, it's not the type of thing you can warm up before you eat it, and who wants a cold cinnamon roll?

 27.  PUMPKIN PECAN  ★★1/2

It was no better than pumpkin pecan pie, though you might like it if that's your thing. This piece earned en extra half a star for the crunch of the pecans.

26.  ORIGINAL ★★1/2

It's good but not New York cheesecake good. Without any other flavors, this slice is just okay.

25.  TIRAMISU ★★1/2

I guess the best way to describe is silky. It was okay, but only a step up from the original tiramisu dessert. When compared to our favorite cheesecakes, this one deserves a less spectacular rating.

24.  CHERRY  Me: ★★ Him: ★★★

This is just one of those preference things. I really only like cherries if they are fresh, and I don't like cherry flavored candy or anything like that. Josiah, on the other hand, practically loves anything cherry. Oh well.

23.  FRESH BANANA CREAM   Me: ★★★ Him: ★★

Creamy and simple. Josiah is not a fan of banana. I prefer it to cherry which is his go to topping.

22. ULTIMATE RED VELVET  ★★★

The red velvet cake part was not as velvety a texture as I like in that kind of cake. Also, there were white chocolate shavings all down the back which turned me off a little. Josiah liked the white chocolate, and I don't mind it if it's mixed into something like the cheesecake itself. I just don't like straight up white chocolate.

21. CELEBRATION  ★★★

This one surprised me. I didn't realize there were layers of Neapolitan mousse when we purchased it. I didn't really notice the vanilla or chocolate flavors, but the strawberry mousse was good. I thought the layers of cake would get in the way of the "cheesecake-ness" as usual. Instead, it gave the slice an overall pleasing texture. It's one I would order again sometime.

20. CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DOUGH

Me: ★★ Him: ★★★★

I think there was too much cookie dough in ratio to the cheesecake, but Josiah loves chocolate chip cookies

19. WHITE CHOCOLATE MACADAMIA NUT  ★★★

Love the caramel. Love mac nuts to death. White chocolate, not so much. This needs more macadamia nuts throughout.

18. SALTED CARAMEL  ★★★

We love caramel but we like the Dulce De Leche slice more. Even better is the Turtle slice with chocolate and caramel.

17. KEY LIME  ★★★

Too much key lime not enough crust or substance. It's good if you think of it as key lime pie rather than cheesecake. But even as a piece of pie it's not really special. The tangy lime flavor saved this one's rating. The Mango Key Lime slice is better.

16. COFFEE AND CREAM CHOCOLATE SUPREME  ★★★1/2

Perfect balance of flavors. That's honestly all I have to say, but I really did enjoy this slice.

15. CHOCOLATE MOUSSE  Me: ★★★1/2   Him: ★★1/2

Delicious! Just not the best chocolate slice on the menu. Go for Godiva for a rich velvety texture. This is good for people who don't like the slight bitterness of dark chocolate.

14. VANILLA BEAN  Me: ★★★★  Him: ★★★

I don't usually like vanilla bean. I prefer plain vanilla ice cream to vanilla bean. But this stuff is heavenly. It was too plain for Josiah to give it more than three stars, but I liked it so much. If you want something minimal, but not dull like Original, go for this slice.

13. REESE'S PEANUT BUTTER CHOCOLATE  ★★★1/2

I often find that Reese's cups taste like preservatives which carried over to this cheesecake. It's good, simply because it is peanut butter and chocolate, but it can't compare to Adam's Peanut Butter Cup Fudge.

12. LEMON MERINGUE  ★★★1/2

I love lemon, but the texture of lemon meringue pie is a little too gooey for me. Therefore, I like this cheesecake better than the traditional pie. It's a simple cheesecake base topped with lemon pie filling and toasted meringue. Lemon zest is sprinkled on the side of whipped cream. I thought I would like it more, but a 3.5 star rating is still pretty good.

11. VERY CHERRY GHIRADELLI  Me: ★★★ Him: ★★★★

I know I already said this, but I really only like fresh cherries. So, I was surprised by how much I liked this cheesecake. There is not too much cherry in it for me, the crust is like a brownie and the chocolate on top is soft like ganache! Josiah loves the combination of chocolate and cherry, so naturally he likes this one, but he thinks it needs more cherry.

10. S'MORES  ★★★1/2

I was surprised by how much I liked it. I enjoy s'mores but I don't like cheap Hershey's chocolate and I can only do one s'more in one sitting. We picked this on our first trip to get cheesecake. I thought it would be good to find a balance each time we ordered and buy one slice we were sure to love and one that would just be okay. Turns out this was my favorite that night! The chocolate cheesecake is topped with perfectly roasted marshmallow cream. The Graham cracker gave a nice crunch to the creaminess. That chocolate was rich and great quality. Not a 5, but pretty darn close. Josiah liked it but was not as impressed as I was. I guess I had lower expectations. Now you will all expect it to be fantastic and find that you just like it okay. This is the best way to eat a s'more!

9. DULCE DE LECHE CARAMEL  ★★★★

Perfect balance of creamy and richness. This is one of our favorites, and way better than the Salted Caramel one.

8. WHITE CHOCOLATE RASPBERRY  ★★★★

Josiah liked this one a lot so we gave it a four. For me, it deserves 3.5 stars, but I liked it too. Fortunately, the white chocolate is incorporated into the cheesecake. Like I said earlier, I don't like white chocolate much on it's own. We didn't enjoy this one as much as the Lemon Raspberry Cream.

7. ADAM'S PEANUT BUTTER CUP FUDGE  ★★★★

Peanut butter, chocolate, cheesecake. What more do you need? The quality was better than the Reese's one, and the chocolate fudge was wonderful.

6. CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT CRUNCH  ★★★★

All I can say is we love chocolate and hazelnut and we love them together. Nutella fans will love this one.

5. MANGO KEY LIME  ★★★★1/2

Whoa! This is the one for tropical flavor fans. It's one of our favorites and we will definitely get it again.

4. OREO DREAM  ★★★★1/2

Man, do I love Oreo! Or anything cookies and cream, really. There was Oero in every glorious bite! And the sweet chocolate cookies balanced well with the cheesecake. This one is very rich, and it has even more chocolate on top!

3. LEMON RASPBERRY CREAM ★★★★★

Heaven! I love raspberry, love lemon, and they make a great couple. This is a lighter slice that is rich yet almost refreshing like a mix of Chantilly and cheesecake.

2. CARAMEL PECAN TURTLE ★★★★★

Freaking amazing! Love the nuts, the caramel, the chocolate. This one is very rich though, so maybe that's not your thing. Definitely eat with a glass of milk.

1. GODIVA DARK CHOCOLATE  ★★★★★

Top of the list! This one is rich with a dense texture. So simple and so perfect. This is our favorite chocolate slice on the menu. It's so rich, not too sweet, and it has a tiny touch of bitterness like all good dark chocolate.
